I installed Office XP on my Vista platform and then discovered different incompatability issues with it. Now I am trying to unistall it but the Media components are not uninstalling. I get an uninstall box saying that they are configuring but that box can stay for as long as 2 hours with nothing happening.

In any case it can't possibly do any 'damage' to your OS installation so you can always un-install it. Well no more damage to the OS than the pile of xxxx called Vista already does to itself on a regular basis. Like one or two others I'll stick with XP as it's the lesser of two evils..unless of course they trash XP

I want to know, if i uninstall vista and reinstall XP. Will i have a problem reactivating Vista or XP. I would not have installed Vista if i knew that there was almost no programs that worked properly with the new system. I have a new computer and the latest video drivers, beta sound drivers.

KCP I too got totally fed up with Vista and unitstalled it from my system. It takes care but is not impossible. It is designed to be a difficult process - MS does not want any backslding on their profits. I had to purchase a new full install copy of XP Service Pack II for full price. $199.

I added a secondary sata disk, booted from vista dvd and installed vista on the secondary disk. I now have the boot stuff on primary xp modified by vista. What is the way to undo this ie take the xp disk back to its pre-vista install stage with vista boot stuff gone? I don't mind if I have to completely wipe off
